At Stay Frosty K9 Training, the mission is simple: to build calm, confident, and capable dog‑and‑handler teams through science‑based, positive‑reinforcement training.
Behavior is only a tool—one that becomes useless without the skill to apply it. That’s why we focus on core principles that create dogs who perform with purpose, rather than relying on isolated behaviors.
Real progress demands self‑reflection, emotional awareness, and the willingness to take accountability for our own habits, expectations, and communication. When handlers grow, their dogs grow with them.
As a veteran‑owned company, we uphold the values that guide true partnership and discipline. Every interaction is shaped by the Stay Frosty mindset: staying calm, sharp, and ready for whatever comes.

1. LEADERSHIP
Whether in moments of uncertainty or calm, dogs look to us for direction. Our goal is to develop true leaders — not “alphas,” not enforcers, but steady, composed guides. If you cannot lead with clarity and confidence, your dog has nothing to follow. Leadership is the foundation of every successful team.
2. ENDURANCE
The best things in life are earned, not given — and meaningful results are no exception. Endurance is built on patience and practice, the steady repetition that strengthens both handler and dog. Do not falter when progress feels distant, and do not fear failure; each setback is a step toward clarity, capability, and growth.
3. ACCOUNTABILITY
Accountability is ownership — of our effort, our discipline, and our failures. We do not blame; train with purpose, precision, and honesty. When we fail to uphold our part, we cannot fault the dog for falling short of our expectations.
4. STRUCTURE
Structure meets a dog’s fundamental needs by providing clarity and predictability. Without structure, uncertainty fills the gaps — and an idle, unanchored mind becomes a breeding ground for anxiety and unwanted behavior. With structure, we replace the unknown with guidance, giving dogs and handlers a stable framework they can trust.

Above all, we help. We guide and support without judgment, standing beside each other. Training is a shared mission, and our role is to lift others toward their best, calm, capable, and reliable, self. The help we give today builds the partnerships we can depend on tomorrow.
How it Started
How it Started
It all began with a remarkable dog named Gina I had the pleasure to serve with. She was a Military Working Dog assigned to the U.S. Army and stationed in Alaska. By the time our paths crossed, Gina had already served alongside three handlers and deployed to Iraq, the Philippines, and Qatar. She spent countless days, evenings, and nights on patrol—always at the side of her person, always ready to work.
After nine years of unwavering service, Gina finally earned her retirement, and I had the honor of giving her a home for the last four years of her life. Living with her—and working with so many other working dogs and pet dogs over the years—left me with a deep sense of gratitude and responsibility to the species. Dogs have stood beside humans throughout history, from ancient civilizations to today’s warriors and companions. Their loyalty is unmatched, and the lives they’ve saved are beyond measure.
Gina opened my eyes to how much bigger the world becomes when you share it with a dog. Through training and responsible ownership, my hope is that we can return that gift—expanding their world by giving them the structure, enrichment, and care they need to experience a fulfilling life, by each others side.
